WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

In this training you will obtain practical knowledge on how to give instructions to Consteel in a scripted form, and thus how to create programs that you can run within Consteel.

These instructions include model object creation, modification, starting calculations, retrieving results, data input/output etc. All these capabilities and more will be shown through live coding demos to give you an in-depth understanding. By the end of the training, you will understand the capabilities of Descript, and be able to write your own scripts in it.​

Navigate the Descript interface, code editor and debugger
Learn the most important Descript commands and their counterparts within the Consteel UI​
Learn to properly parametrize commands to do exactly what you want​
Learn to use the programming tools in Descript, such as variables, arrays, loops and if statements
Follow along live coding examples that demonstrate Descript’s capabilities in the topics of model building, automated calculations, and input/output

WHO IS THIS TRAINING FOR?

This training is for those interested in parametric design and task automation in Consteel. It’s ideal for automating tedious data input and output or making the model-building process for standardized structures more efficient.
No prior coding experience is required, though it can be helpful. Everything runs within Consteel—no extra third-party software needed.

Software Engineer

Márton started as a structural engineer and worked for years as a developer engineer at Consteel before moving into programming. He now maintains and develops the Descript scripting language, knowing every detail of how it works. He also writes scripts for Consteel, combining engineering expertise with coding.
 
As an instructor, he aims to help participants to understand Descript and apply it confidently to simplify their workflows and make structural design more efficient.

In this training, you will gain hands-on experience in automating tasks in Consteel using its built-in scripting language, Descript. You will learn how to:

By the end of the training, you will be able to write your own scripts to optimize and streamline your structural design workflow.

You will need a computer with Windows 11 operating system to complete the training. Participants also must have: 

– An active Consteel license with Consteel 18 or higher installed. If you don’t have an active license yet, you can participate in our training with a 30-day Trial version for free.  

– Date: 8 April, 2026 
– Duration: 4 hours (10:00-15:00 CET)
– Location: Online via Microsoft Teams 
– Language: English 

To join the training, you’ll need to: 

– Register before the application deadline (1 April, 2026) and complete payment.
– Ensure you have the required software installed (Consteel 18). 
– Have a stable internet connection and Microsoft Teams for online access.

If you don’t have an active Consteel license, you can request a 30-day Trial version for free from our website.

– The video of the training will be available for 1 month from the date of the training.
– Participants will have access to example scripts created during the training.
– Opportunity to ask questions about the training via the Help Center for 30 days after the training

Our training sessions are held live, but all registered and paid participants will receive the full recordings and training materials afterwards. You will also have the opportunity to send your questions to our engineering team, who will be happy to assist you.

– Do you have Pro Membership? In this case you will receive a 20% discount on the price of the training.

The discounted price tied to the membership is valid for as many participants as the company has memberships. For example, if the company has one Premium membership, one participant can register at the discounted price, while additional participants need to pay the full price.

Companies with the valid EU VAT number, no VAT is charged.
– For companies in the European Union (without the valid EU VAT number), 27% VAT is charged.
– For individuals within the European Union, VAT is charged at the applicable rate of the customer’s country of residence.
