Basics of Descript in Consteel

Learn how you can automate tasks in Consteel with its built-in scripting language, Descript. Discover the opportunities it provides with parametric model building, automated calculations, iterative structure optimization, and data input/output to and from Consteel.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

In this training you will obtain practical knowledge on how to give instructions to Consteel in a scripted form, and thus how to create programs that you can run within Consteel.

These instructions include model object creation, modification, starting calculations, retrieving results, data input/output etc. All these capabilities and more will be shown through live coding demos to give you an in-depth understanding. By the end of the training, you will understand the capabilities of Descript, and be able to write your own scripts in it.

Navigate the Descript interface, code editor and debugger
Learn the most important Descript commands and their counterparts within the Consteel UI
Learn to properly parametrize commands to do exactly what you want
Learn to use the programming tools in Descript, such as variables, arrays, loops and if statements
Follow along live coding examples that demonstrate Descript’s capabilities in the topics of model building, automated calculations, and input/output
