Fundamentals of Wind Load Simulation with FALCON

Learn advanced wind load simulation techniques using the FALCON plugin, allowing you to accurately analyze wind effects. Delve more into computational fluid dynamics (CFD), discover how to perform complex wind load analyses, and apply the results as generated wind loads to optimize various structures.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

The fundamental theoretical principles behind computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations
How to create models suitable for CFD analysis using both traditional/manual techniques and automatic/parametric methods
To understand and evaluate the simulation process for various building types, including standard rectangular “closed” forms, “open” structures like canopies, and complex freeform geometries
How to generate wind loads using special methods and interpret the results in compliance with relevant standards

Get to Know Your Trainer

Development Engineer

As a structural engineer, he developed a strong passion for parametric design methods and had the opportunity to work on several intriguing projects. Throughout this time, he encountered the common challenge of evaluating wind loads on complex, non-standard buildings. This experience sparked his interest in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and its application in structural engineering, which led to a shift toward research and later became the focus of his PhD studies.

He now works as a developer on Pangolin and FALCON, where he combines engineering insight with advanced computational tools to push the boundaries of structural design.
